The story

Black Obsidian is formed when hot lava from a volcano cools so fast that it turns into natural glass. In ancient times it was polished into mirrors and sharp tools. Because it is so deep black, it has long been called the “stone of protection”, believed to soak up negativity before it reaches you.

Who can wear it

Anyone, of any rashi, age or gender. Especially liked by people who meet many others every day, travel often or feel easily drained. Black Obsidian is also one of the stones in the Vrishchik and Dhanu rashi bracelets.

How to wear

• Best first worn on a Saturday.
• Hold it in your palm, think of being safe and protected, then wear it.
• Usually worn on the left wrist, to absorb negativity.

• Remove before bathing, swimming or applying perfume.
• Obsidian is a kind of glass, so avoid knocking it on hard surfaces.
• Since it is believed to soak up negativity, cleanse it often: rinse quickly in water, dry well, and leave under moonlight overnight.
